Cyber Guidance Office

Your guidance counselor just became a lot more reliable..

BACKGROUND
Guidance counselors responsible for the junior and senior high school classes have their hands full. They are responsible for scheduling interested students for the SAT and ACT tests. They explain the college application process and provide as much assistance as possible to students with questions. Bob Turba’s Cyber Guidance Office tries to fill in any gaps that might have occurred during this process. Not only does he fully explain the financial aid requirements, but provides calculators that help parents pre-determine the Expected Family Contribution. He then provides links to some of the most popular scholarships and even covers subsidized housing.

Of course, Mr. Turba wouldn’t be a very good guidance counselor if he didn’t also offer a college search, a career search and test preparation, so he does.

- Better understand the college financial aid process, including loans and scholarships
- Study Help
- Planners
- Calenders
- Guidance Professionals
- Newletters

CON
- This site originates from Stranton College Preparatory School, so information concerning transcription requests may have to be adapted to your local area
- No discussion of campus life or transitioning into campus

EXPENSE
Bob Turba's Cyber Guidance Office does not charge a fee for utilizing the features on this site.

DEGREE PROGRAMS
All degreed programs are incorporated into the college search, but many links will take you outside this site’s page.

SCHOOLS
Schools are accessed through links to external websites.

STUDENT LIFE
The one subject that seems to be missing from this site, that would be a definite bonus, is an overview of campus life.

CONCLUSION
Bob Turba's Cyber Guidance Office truly mirrors information that a guidance counselor would provide high school students. The links are thoroughly researched, as is the advice and information concerning testing, scholarships and financing, and tutorial sites. The Cyber Guidance Office is available to parents and students, looking for information and tools to make the overwhelming transition from high school to college more efficient and cost effective.

Comment

Many guidance counselors don't answer all the questions for many students and their parents. Cyber Guidance Office is another resource to help with all of the questions that need to be answered. posted Jul 14th, 2008 12:51 pm
