Maggie Badore grew up in Dearborn, Michigan. She first began thinking about the importance of education while attending The Roeper School, a progressive K-12 that emphasizes both individual learning and community involvement. She earned her bachelor's of arts at Sarah Lawrence College, with a concentration in writing. She used to be a competitive figure skater, and today continues to be a rink rat as a coach on the weekends. Her other interests include French literature, old movies and quilting.
