It’s said that it’s better to give than to receive, and that’s exactly what these celebrities are practicing. Some big names in entertainment have set-up scholarship funds to support their alma maters or just deserving college students with a big financial need.

Will.I.Am (I Am Scholarship)

Eligibility: Based on previous recipients, outstanding academic record and financial need.

Scholarship Amount: Based on previous recipients, full-ride to school of choice including tuition, books and room and board for for years.

Michael Jackson Scholarship

Eligibility: Undergrad attending a UNCF member college studying communications, performing arts or English.

Requirements: 3.0 GPA, receive financial aid, completed FAFSA.

Scholarship Amount: Averages $4,000.

Eligibility: Junior or senior at Ball State University studying telecommunications.

Requirements: Submit a written, audio or video project. Creativity scored, not GPA.

Scholarship Amount: First prize is $10,000.

Jerry Seinfeld (Seinfeld Family Foundation Scholarship)

Eligibility: New York City public school seniors.

Requirements: Prove academic achievement, financial need, creativity, leadership and community service.

Scholarship Amount: Covers all unmet financial need for four years, including tuition, room and board, books and personal expenses.

Katie Holmes, Carrie Ann Inaba, Adam Shankman, Nigel Lythgoe (Dizzy Feet Foundation)

Eligibility: Talented dancers with financial need.

Requirements: Not able to identify details.

Scholarship Amount: $1,500 to $7,500
