Toxic Abercrombie & Fitch Fragrance Starting Fierce Health Campaign

It seems teenagers across America are not too happy with the popular clothing store Abercrombie & Fitch Co. as the group Teens Turning Green targets their fragrance lines as their next advocacy project.

If you have never been near a store, the company’s fragrance Fierce is so heavily sprayed inside their stores and outside in the steps or mall entrances, it often chokes people as they walk by. But, that isn’t the only issue the group is upset about. The fragrance also apparently contains unsafe chemical toxins that can make the general public sick.

The group cited a report released from the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics stating the fragrance contains chemicals that are not listed on the label that can lead to “headaches, wheezing, asthma and contact dermatitis; and high levels of a hormone-disrupting chemical that may harm male reproductive health.”

“Abercrombie & Fitch owes it to its 10,000 workers and customers in 300 stores nationwide to stop spraying toxic chemicals in the air with no notification or consent,” Lisa Archer, national coordinator of the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics told reporters.

Parents, medical organizations, health advocacy groups and environmentalists have also joined the campaign against the spread of the fragrance’s chemicals.

What do you think of Abercrombie’s sneaky smell? Is the response from advocacy groups an over-reaction, or are Abercrombie’s omittance of fragrance ingredients an outrage?

Okay what the hell! The smell attracts me to the shop even more, really lush. This is all a load of namby pamby rubbish, probably from those who can’t afford Abercrombie and Fitch, get a life, protest about important things not a perfume!

I would never shop at Abercrombie, the overly strong fragrance should deter most people from even going in there. I feel sorry for the kids that work there and don’t even realize that their health is at risk. Abercrombie = negligence.
