Kevin Costner’s Education Background

Kevin Costner is an American actor who has won two Academy Awards and two Golden Globe Awards. Some of the movies he is best known for include “Dances with Wolves,” “The Bodyguard,” “Field of Dreams,” and “Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves.” EDUinReview will now take a look at the education background of this talented actor.

Costner was born in Lynwood, California on January 18, 1955. He is the youngest of the three sons of William and Sharon Costner. The family moved quite often as his father’s career progressed. He attended high school in Villa Park, California, and he graduated from high school in 1973.

After high school, Costner went to California State University in Fullerton. He studied Business Administration and Marketing, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in 1978. It was while he was Cal State that he discovered his love of acting. When he accidentally ran into Richard Burton during the return trip from his Mexican honeymoon, Burton told him he would be fine as an actor. Costner took this as a sign and the rest, as they say, is history.

Costner has been married twice. He had three children from his first marriage, one child with a girlfriend, and has three children with his current wife, German model and handbag designer, Christine Baumgartner.
