The Perfect Gift for Your Graduate

Instead of stopping by the ATM on the way to that graduation party, take a different route, and get the graduate something you can actually wrap. All of these gifts are under $30.

I found all of these ideas at Amazon.com, but most of these gifts can be purchased locally. So, if you’re headed to a graduation party this weekend and don’t have time to order on-line, see if you can find something comparable at your local Target or Wal-Mart. If you’re really strapped for time, Amazon will let you print gift cards from your home computer. Pick from several designs to add some personal touch.

For the graduate who loves to party:

Stoli Vodka Martini Cocktail Set – 8 piece Set ($19.99): Nothing is more sophisticated than owning your very own martini set, and this one is less than $20. The newly-minted adult will appreciate this sleek set with two glasses, four shot glasses and a mixer. Just make sure the graduate is over 21.

For the education major:

Oh the Places You’ll Go! ($10.19): Give the gift of Dr. Suess and you’re sure to be a hit at the party. Slide a couple of $20 bills between the pages so your gift is not a complete novelty. Elementary education majors will be able to use this book in the classroom when they get their first teaching position.

For the business major:

Blomus Stainless Steel Business Card Holder ($29.95): Shiny and durable, owning this case will make the graduate feel grown-up and professional. This stylish case holds up to 20 cards and will make any future co-worker jealous.

For the biology major/green-conscious graduate:

Hydrofarm CK64050 Germination Station with Heat Mat ($26.99): Not your average planting bed, as you can control both the heat and the humidity with this gift idea. The graduate will be able to grow the best possible plants with 72-cell seedling inserts and seed starting booster.
