Scarlett Johansson’s Education Background

scarlett johanssonScarlett Johansson was born on November 22, 1984 in New York City. Her father is Karsten Johansson an architect and her mother, Melanie Sloan, is a producer. Johansson has an older sister named Vanessa, an older brother named Adrian, a twin brother named Hunter, and an older half-brother, Christian, from her father’s first marriage.

Johansson attended P.S. 41 in Greenwich Village for elementary school. Johansson began her theatrical training at Professional Children’s School in Manhattan. She graduated in 2002.

Johansson made her film debut at nine years old. She starred as John Ritter’s child in the 1994 comedy North. Johansson earned attention for her role in the 1998 film The Horse Whisperer. Johansson made her transition from teen roles to adult roles, with two films 2003. She starred in the Sofia Coppola film Lost in Translation. Her performance earned her a Golden Globe nomination. Johansson earned another Golden Globe nomination for her performance in the drama, Girl with a Pearl Earring.

In 2004 Johansson earned a third Golden Globe Nomination for a role in A Love Song for Bobby Long. A fourth Golden Globe nomination was given to Johansson her role in Woody Allen’s Match Point. Johansson’s filmography list is extensive. She has been involved in thirty-two motion pictures since 1994.

In 2010 Johansson starred on Broadway in A View From the Bridge. This performance gave her some of her career’s best reviews. For her work she received a Tony Award for Best Performance by a Featured Actress in a Play.

On May 20, 2008, Johansson debuted as a vocalist on her first album, Anywhere I Lay My Head. Her second album, Break Up, with Pete Yorn, was released in September 2009.
