Hines Ward is an American football player who plays for the Pittsburgh Steelers. He was voted the MVP of Super Bowl XL in 2005. Ward was born in Seoul, South Korea to a Korean mother and an African American father. The family moved to Atlanta when he was one-year old. When he was two-years old, his parents divorced and a court decided that Ward should be raised by his paternal grandmother because his mother did not speak English.
Ward attended high school at Forest Park High School in Forest Park, Georgia. While in high school, he played quarterback for the school’s football team and was voted the Clayton County Offensive Player of the Year twice.
