Independence Foundation Scholarship

Description
Annual awards for residents of Bucks, Montgomery, Philadelphia, Chester, and Delaware counties, Pennsylvania who are graduating high school seniors planning careers in government service in the local, state, or federal government. Applicants must be a U.S. citizen. Selection is based on student's understanding, purpose, and preparation for their career, leadership qualities, sincerity, and historical perspective. Applicants must submit a cover page listing personal information, a one-page, double-spaced, essay stating why he or she has chosen a career in government service, including any inspiration derived from George Washington's leadership in the crossing of the Delaware, a letter of recommendation, high school transcripts, and SAT/ACT test scores. Awards are payable over four years with maintained academic standing and continuation of career goals.
