Stratford Career Institute

Choose from dozens of degrees you can earn at home..

Stratford Career Center is a distance learning center that focuses on career-based training in more than fifty fields of interest. By receiving all learning materials directly at home, students can learn at their own pace and access assistance 24/7 for any questions that may arise. This successful methodology has been effective for nearly twenty years. The school has grown from its humble beginnings of 50,000 students to more than ten times that amount during the 2006 school year.

When choosing career paths, Stratford spells out the duties a person in that industry would perform on a daily basis, and/or provides a synopsis concernings the types of information that will be taught, so that potential students can more easily make an informed decision.

- The ability to learn new skills pertinent to interviewing for a new career path.
- No need to quit your present job while you learn, learning is done from home.
- Employers may consider you a stronger candidate, since they don’t have to train you from scratch.
- Time spent learning is not diverted to basic math, English, or History studies.

The program presents Certificates in most instances. No Associates programs seem available.

The cost of materials and support will depend upon the program you choose.

Some of the many dozens of certificate courses Stratford currently offers include:
- Accounting Program
- Administrative Secretarial Program
- Auto Mechanics
- Bookkeeping Accounting Program
- Child Day Care Management Program
- Computer Programming in C++
- Cosmetology and Esthetics Program
- Dental Assistant

Stratford also offers the opportunity to complete your high school diploma through its GED program.

There is no campus experience available from distance learning. However, joining online support communities and taking advantage of Stratford’s telephone-support can enhance the experience.

Distance career learning is a viable means of gaining beneficial knowledge and professional certification that can help you enter many fields with a feeling of confidence. You don't need to spend years studying for a four-year degree to advance your career, many Stratford programs take a matter of months. Armed with information pertinent to the career path you long to pursue, you can be in the field and gaining experience much more quickly with certification from Stratford, than if you were participating in a traditional four-year degree program.

Thumbs Down

This program is horribly illegitimate! NO college ANYWHERE will accept this diploma or degree! NO WHERE! All of that money, 800 dollars, down the drain. Thank you for NOTHING! Went to sign up for a course, shunned from 4 different schools. This so called college is on the Black Mill list which means that it is not accredited. If you want to learn something new, by all means, use this company, but if your desire is a degree, laugh all the way to another school for your own sake! posted Nov 20th, 2013 6:46 am

I already have a bachelors, masters, and specialist degree. So, online and distant learning for me is all about learning a new skill or field of interest, such as interior decorating and fashion design. I just retired from a supervisory position so I can start my own business, but I don't have a business degree, so getting trained in business would be useful, also. I think this kind of learning opportunity is useful to people like me. posted Sep 1st, 2008 8:34 am

I'm usually skeptical about online colleges but with a student body of half a million people, then it must be legitimate. posted Jul 1st, 2008 5:17 pm
