Potomac College Online

Educating working adults in the classroom and online..

Potomac College is a fairly new school, founded in 1991 to meet the needs specifically of those adults that want to earn an associate's or bachelor's degree while they are working full-time. The school has two campuses, located in Herndon, Virginia and Washington, D.C. The associate's and bachelor's degrees that are offered are those within the most popular fields of study available today. Potomac College is currently accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education.

Although a lot of Potomac’s classes take place in a traditional classroom setting, they also offer several online classes to accommodate student’s schedules. Students have the option of taking classes on Saturdays, or two evenings per week, and can earn their degree in as little as 18 months in some cases. There is a list of the current faculty at Potomac College, and a short bio on all of them. Students actually have the opportunity to see which classes they teach and the different degrees their teachers hold.

Because going back to school after being out for a while can sometimes prove challenging, Potomac offers an extensive student services department to assist incoming students. Although several classes are available online, there doesn’t appear to be a complete degree program that can be obtained online.

Potomac is mostly focused on helping students get their degrees in a timely manner.

Of course attendance is limited to those that might already live in the Herndon or Washington, D.C. areas. Many colleges have programs for working adults, but Potomac College is an entire institution built around that. You don’t have to stop everything in order to attend classes and earn your degree. You can actually go back to school in your spare time and when it is convenient for you.
