Time magazine just released their list of the country’s ten best college presidents. The notables that made the list come from a mix of colleges and universities from throughout the country. Some of them manage some of the nation’s largest public universities in states that are suffering dearly from the economic recession and others have made great strides to turn their schools into the greenest academic institutions in the country.

Here is a look at each president and the schools they govern:

10. Mark Yudof: University of California (the entire system)

9. Juliet Garcia: University of Texas at Brownsville

8. Eduardo Padrón: Miami Dade College

7. Freeman Hrabowski: University of Maryland, Baltimore County

6. Ronald Liebowitz: Middlebury College

5. Scott Cowen: Tulane University

4. Michael Crow: Arizona State University

3. Mary Sue Coleman: University of Michigan

2. John Sexton: New York University

1. Gordon Gee: Ohio State University
