Ben Roethlisberger's Education Background

Ben Roethlisberger is an NFL quarterback who plays for the Pittsburgh Steelers. He was drafted into the NFL during the first round of the 2004 NFL Draft. On February 6, 2011, Roethlisberger and the Steelers will be playing the Green Bay Packers in the Super Bowl. EDUinReview will now take a look at the education background of this talented athlete.

Roethlisberger was born on March 2, 1982 in Lima, Ohio. He attended high school in Findlay, Ohio. While in high school, he was very involved in the athletics department and was captain of the football, basketball, and baseball teams. During his freshman, sophomore, and junior years, Roethlisberger played wide receiver. It was during his senior year that the coach moved him to playing quarterback, where he excelled.

After high school, Roethlisberger attened Miami University in Oxford. He played college football for the RedHawks, starting as a red shirt freshman. He currently holds every major passing record for the school. He played three years for the RedHawks, passing more than 10,829 yards in his time at the school.

He left college in 2004 to play professional football for the Steelers. He was the 11th pick in the NFL Draft and went 13-0 during his rookie season. When he was 23, he helped the Steelers win the Super Bowl XL; he is the youngest quarterback to win a Super Bowl.
