Jillian Michaels' Education Background

Biggest Loser TrainerJillian Michaels is a fitness expert best known as one of the trainers on The Biggest Loser.

As a child, Jillian Michaels struggled with her weight until her mother enrolled her in a martial arts class. After high school, she briefly attended California State University at Northridge. Michaels worked as a bartender for a time before becoming a personal trainer. She went on to open her own gym.

Michaels is an experienced trainer in a variety of physical fitness disciplines. She holds two personal training certificates, one from the National Exercise & Sports Trainers Association (NESTA) and one from the American Fitness Association of America (AFAA). Jillian also has a certification in Kettlebell Concepts. She is has a wellness and nutrition certification from American Fitness Professionals Associates (AFPA).

In 2004, Michaels made her television debut in the first season of The Biggest Loser. She has also released a verity of fitness and weight-loss products, including supplements, books, workout DVDs and video games.

    Wow, surprised with all that publicity she’s not more educated in the field. That’s what sucks about the fitness industry, so many people are unqualified to be doing what they do but find success because stuff like popularity and social media followings.
    I’m usually weary of trainers unless they’ve got C.S.C.S certification, requires a athletic degree, usually see it in professional sports and physical therapy. But good for her for making’ that $$$

    Sorry Tim, your just pissed because she’s an Icon and your not. With all your education, which is a good thing, but it’s what you do with what you have that gets you places in this world, apparently, your not there.

    no college education in the field….you are more of an expert than me? 34 y in business 2 fitness degrees, and a doctoral candidate in sports performance psychology?
