Nicole Polizzi, better known as Snooki, is a reality television personality famous for starring on MTV’s Jersey Shore. Snooki has been on the show since 2009 and is famous for many crazy antics, including getting arrested for disturbing the peace in 2010. EDUinReview will now take a look at the education background of this reality star.
Snooki was born on November 23, 1987 in Sanitago, Chile. When she was six-months old, she was adopted by an Italian American family and moved to the USA. She grew up in Poughkeepsie, NY.
Snooki earned her famous nickname when she was in middle school. Her friends gave her the moniker after she became the first one of her friends to kiss a boy. The name originated from a male character in the movie “Save the Last Dance.”
She attended school in Marlboro, NY, where she was a member of the cheerleading squad. While she was in high school, she suffered from an eating disorder; her lowest weight was 80 pounds.
After high school, Snooki attended community college. She studied to become a veterinarian but has put her academic pursuits on hold for a while to pursue her television career.
Snooki first appeared on MTV’s airwaves on the show Is She Really Going Out with Him? Shortly after, she saw an advertisement on Facebook for a new TV show, Jersey Shore. She applied and got the gig. The New York Times identified her as the breakout star of the cast and claimed she has a strange appeal. She earns $30,000 per episode and $10,000 per event appearance. Snooki recently wrote a book, “It’s a Shore Thing,” but the book has not received many good reviews or had much success in sales.
