T. R. Knight's Education Background

Theodore Raymond “T.R.” KnightTheodore Raymond “T.R.” Knight was born March 26, 1973 in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Knight received a scholarship as a freshman and apprenticed at The Children’s Theater Company. Knight completed high school in Richfield, Minnesota at the Academy of Holy Angels.

Following high school, Knight enrolled at the University of Minnesota. He soon dropped out and pursued the leading roles at the Guthrie Theater.

Knight moved to New York and began performing in Broadway shows. He accepted some minor television roles before he was cast on Grey’s Anatomy in 2005. He starred  as Dr. George O’Malley until he quit the cast in 2008. Since then, he has pursued more Broadway productions and other endeavors.
