Jessica Alba HeadshotJessica Marie Alba was born on April 28, 1981 in Pomona, California. Her parents are Mark and  Catherine Alba. Alba has a younger brother named Joshua. Alba’s father had an Air Force career that took the family to Biloxi, Mississippi and Del Rio, Texas, before settling back in California when she was nine years old.

Alba graduated from high school when she was only sixteen and she subsequently attended the Atlantic Theater Company.

Alba’s interest in acting began at the age of five. In 1992 Alba won an acting competition in Beverly Hills, California. The grand prize was free acting classes. Nine months later Alba was signed with an agent.

Alba’ first appearance on film was a small role in the 1994 feature Camp Nowhere. Her career moved into television in 1994. Alba was noticed in 1999 after she appeared with Drew Barrymore in the romantic comedy Never Been Kissed.

George Lopez’ Education Background

Actor George LopezGeorge Lopez was born on April 23, 1961 in Mission Hills, Los Angeles, California. Lopez was abandoned by his mother and father at birth. He was raised by his maternal grandmother, Benita Gutierrez, a factory worker, and step-grandfather, Refugio Gutierrez, a construction worker.

Lopez worked as an actor in his early career. He starred in minor roles in the early 1990s. In 1999 Lopez was given a radio hosting job in Los Angeles, California.  He was the first Latino to headline a keystone morning radio slot on an English-language station in Los Angeles. The morning radio slot is the nation’s top radio market.

Lopez also spent many years as a stand up comedian. After several years of performing, Lopez was contacted by actress Sandra Bullock. Bullock wanted for Lopez to produce and star in a comedy sitcom. Lopez went on to co-create George Lopez. The show is an American situation comedy that aired on ABC from 2002 to 2007. Lopez is not only the co-creator but a writer, producer, and the star of the show.

Cate Blanchett’s Education Background

Cate BlanchettCatherine Élise “Cate” Blanchett was born May 14, 1969 in Ivanhoe, Australia. She is the daughter of June, an Australian property developer and teacher, and Robert “Bob” Blanchett, a Texas-born US Navy Petty Officer who eventually worked as an advertising executive. Blanchett has two siblings: a brother, Bob, and a sister, Genevieve.

Blanchett attended primary school in Melbourne at Ivanhoe East Primary School. For her secondary education, she attended Ivanhoe Girls’ Grammar School and then graduated from  Methodist Ladies’ College. Blanchett discovered her love for acting during her time in  secondary school. She studied Economics and Fine Arts at the University of Melbourne. She eventually left Australia to travel overseas.

When Blanchett was eighteen she went on a vacation to Egypt. A guest at her hotel offered her a chance to be an extra in a movie. Blanchett accepted and found her calling. She returned to Australia to study at the National Institute of Dramatic Art. Blanchett graduated in 1992 and began her career in the theater.

Hilary Duff’s Education Background

Actress Hilary DuffHilary Erhard Duff was born on September 28, 1987 in Houston, Texas. She is the second daughter of Robert Erhard Duff, a partner in a chain of convenience stores, and Susan Colleen, a homemaker. Her older sister is Haylie Duff.

Duff and her sister Haylie were so invested in the acting profession that the siblings moved to California at a young age. Due to Duff’s acting pursuits, she was home schooled. Along with her sister, Duff was first cast in various television commercials. In 1998 Duff was cast in her first major role. She starred in the “direct-to-video” film Casper Meets Wendy. Duff’s most popular role to date came very early in her career. Starring as Lizzie in the Disney Channel’s original show Lizzie McGuire, sealed her fame. The first episode aired on January 12, 2001. The show was a ratings hit, drawing in 2.3 million viewers per episode. The show ran until 2004.

Her parents are Will Knightley, a theatre and television actor, and Sharman MacDonald, an award-winning playwright. Knightley has one older brother named Caleb. James Pickens Jr.’s Education Background
