Rude and Unhygienic: Columbia Business School Students?

toothbrushColumbia University is oft touted for having some of the most prestigious graduate schools. Its graduate programs in law, journalism and mathematics are all ranked in the top ten. So what’s going on with their business students?

According to The Huffington Post, students at Columbia‘s Business School were chastised not only for being impolite, but also for being unhygienic. The students received two email notices from displeased board members of the Investment Banking Club, an organization that provides students with networking and recruitment opportunities.

The first communication focused on the students’ appearance. The “friendly reminder on some dress code and personal hygiene basics” recommended that the graduate students brush their teeth and comb their hair, and also offered advice on appropriate business interview attire.

Jessica Simpson’s Boyfriend, Eric Johnson, Drops Out of Business School

Sometimes it’s best to learn from other people’s mistakes. We don’t recommend following in Eric Johnson’s footsteps and quitting school. Jessica Simpson’s current beau and former NFL player is dropping out of business school. Johnson had plans to attend the Wharton Business School’s MBA program, but decided against it, reports People.

Rumors have circulated Johnson chose not to move to the Pennsylvania university in order to spend more time, but those close to the couple have denied the claims. “There were a lot of factors that went into his decision,” said a friend. “Jessica supports him in whatever he wants to do. Stanford Leads the Best Business Schools

Every two years, Forbes takes a look at the business schools in the U.S. and determines which stand ahead of the competition. For students pursuing an MBA, this means narrowing in on the programs that will most likely provide them with a top-notch education and land them in their dream jobs.stanford business school

Forbes took a look at the return on investment five years after graduation (so for this list, 2004 graduates), and spoke with 17,000 business school alumni from 103 schools to gather its information.

For 2009, Stanford Graduate School of Business rose to the top of the list, and was named the best business school in America by Forbes. The median salary for these Stanford graduates five years later is $225,000, surpassing all other business school graduate salaries.
