Naval Academy Expels Midshipmen for Smoking Spice

Seven Naval Academy midshipmen have been expelled for violating the Navy’s substance abuse policy by smoking a substance called “spice”.

Although the Naval Academy would not identify the midshipmen, those who were expelled included both juniors and sophomores. Spice is a banned substance within the departments of defense including the Navy. Spice is a mixture of herbs and spices that is chemically similar to marijuana and the effects that are felt after smoking spice are similar to those felt after smoking marijuana. It is typically marketed as fake weed and can be purchased in tobacco shops and on the internet.

The Top 5 College Fight Songs

Okay, so my school’s fight song isn’t really creative, but it sure does get the crowd ready for a football game, especially when there are 80,000 fans singing it. Sadly enough, it turns out that the University of Oklahoma‘s fight song was inspired by the songs that students sing at Yale University and the University of North Carolina, but hey, I still like it.

Almost every school has a fight song that students and fans sing at sporting events. These fight songs have two main purposes: get the home-team excited and intimidate the competition. Read the rest of this entry »



President Obama Announces College Tour

The White House announced today which college graduates President Obama will try to inspire at their commencements. barack obama

Obama plans to speak at Arizona State University on May 13, the University of Notre Dame on May 17, and the United States Naval Academy on May 22.

Last May at Wesleyan University in Connecticut, Obama urged students to consider public service, recalling his own decision to work for a small group of churches as a neighborhood organizer in Chicago for “$12,000 a year plus $2,000 for an old, beat-up car,” and how the experience gave him purpose and direction. John McCain’s GPA and College Records

There’s no doubt that John McCain’s military record is exemplary.  The same cannot be said for his academic record.  McCain won’t release his Naval Academy GPA or his transcripts, but he did admit to graduating fifth from the bottom of his class!  That’s 894 out of 899.  Here’s what he had to say:
