BACKGROUND
College Board is a comprehensive service designed to assist parents, students and professionals. There are five major categories from which to glean information. These include:

– College Board Tests
– Plan For College
– Find A College
– Apply to College
– Pay For College

The “College Board Tests” section directs you to sites that will both tutor and conduct testing for ACT and SAT tests.  They also provide tools to assist you in preparing for the tests, and include information for students with disabilities.

In the “Plan for College” section, you will find practical information, pertinent to a high school student’s current standing in school and goals they need to accomplish prior to applying to a college.

The “Find a College” section, is a search engine that allows you to set search criteria according to specific college characteristics you may desire.  Included are such innovative categories as, “Freshman Housing a Must,”  “Wired Dorms,” and “Men’s Football, Div I,” among others.

The “Apply to College” section is a comprehensive tutorial that includes such topics as “Sample College Essay Questions,” a “College Application Calendar,” and many articles pertinent to the endeavor you are about to undertake.

Finally, the “Pay for College,” section looks into “Ways to Pay,” and includes information about scholarships, aid and school loans.

In some manner, this service addresses the varying issues which can help you determine whether to pursue a Certificate, Associates, Bachelors, Masters, MBA or PhD.

SCHOOLS
The listing of schools  generated from the site, will be determined by the search criteria set.  On line institutions are also represented.

STUDENT LIFE
Articles address situations inherent in campus life, including, “Roommate Rules,” “Survival Tips,” and many more.

CONCLUSION
When probing into the subject of college, many of us are completely unfamiliar with what we will face.  High schools attempt to bridge this gap during their student’s junior and senior years, but oftentimes, a thorough examination of the process nets better results than just relying upon the limited information the schools have time to present.  A deep exploration of this site will provide valid and helpful information.
