Description
Highly competitive scholarships for qualified COLLEGE JUNIORS and SENIORS interested in becoming Navy officers in the high-tech nuclear field. Students must not have reached their 25th birthday by June 30 of the year in which college graduation and commission are expected, be physically qualified, be willing to bear arms and defend the Constitution of the United States, and must have maintained a qualifying GPA. Recipients of this program receive a least $1,500 per month while completing their college requirements. Students receive a commission as a Navy or Marine officer upon completion of schooling and are required to fulfill a military service obligation. After graduating from college and Officer Candidate School (OCS), NUPOCs attend the Nuclear Power School for 6 months and then 6 months of on hands training at a nuclear reactor facility.
