Description
Annual research awards for undergraduate and graduate students pursuing studies in Energy-Related disciplines at an accredited college or university. Selection is based on academic performance, broad applicability of the student’s proposed project, involvement of the host utility, generalizable methodologies, and promotion of energy efficiency. Award recipients will be expected to conduct research on an approved project that will benefit public power systems and submit a final report. Applications must be sent from a DEED member utility and contain the signature of an authorized individual at the utility. An original transcript must be sent directly from the school. Award amount will be distributed in two payments with one-third being awarded upon completion of the project. (Funding may be split among students collaborating on a single project.) If all ten awards are not awarded in the spring, the remainder will be available in the fall. Due dates: January 15th and July 15th. Contact the Association for more information and/or application.
