Annual award for children (natural born, adopted or step-children), unmarried, up to the age of 23 at the time of application -or- spouses of active duty members or former members (retired, separated or resigned) of the U.S. Navy who are serving or have served honorably in the U.S. Naval Air Forces, or in subordinate activities (i.e. air stations, aircraft carriers, aviation squadrons, wings and staffs), or sponsors (i.e. must have completed eight years of active duty or ADSW, such as Reservist who was called upon to work full-time). Applicant must be a graduate of an accredited high school or the equivalent home school or institution that is planning to pursue full-time postsecondary education at an accredited college or university. Selection is based on scholastic proficiency, financial need, non-scholastic activities, character and all-around ability. Number of awards and award amount varies.
