Annual awards for Michigan residents who ar graduating high school seniors that are the legal dependents of members of Michigan locals of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters (IBT), and are planning to pursue post-secondary education in the state of Michigan. Members must be active or have been placed on a seniority list. Dependents of employees of the Michigan Teamsters Joint Council #43 and/or its affiliates are not eligible, nor are dependents of employers of Michigan Teamsters. Applicants must have strong academic performance (3.0 GPA average at graduation); exemplary qualities of leadership in school; and extra-curricular activities and community involvement. Class rank is an important factor in the selection process, however, extenuating circmstances are also considered.
