Annual awards for Oregon residents who are members (active, laid-off, retired, or disabled) or dependents of members of the SEIU Local 503/Oregon Public Employees Union and are pursuing postsecondary studies at least part-time. Preference given to applicants in the following order: 1) SEIU Local 503/OPEU members, 2) children, grandchildren, spouses/domestic partners, 3) dependents of deceased members who were active members at time of death, and 4) laid-off members. Members must be in good standing and been active at least one year prior to the time of application. Dependents include spouses, life partners, children, or grandchildren. Children and grandchildren of members must be under the age of 25 and be undergraduate students. Active members, spouses/domestic partners, or laid off members maybe part-time students or graduate students. Applicants must be U.S. citizens/eligible noncitizens, file the FAFSA, and be full-time students. Award amount and number of awards vary. Recipients may reapply and compete annually.
