Annual awards for full-time undergraduate students majoring in areas of Business, Computer Science, Agriculture, Nursing, or Engineering. Student must be a U.S. citizen, have financial need, earn part of their school expenses by working in the summer and/or during the school year, and have a minimum 2.5 GPA. Student must be a permanent resident living in the vicinity of a TYSON operating facility, which includes ALABAMA (Albertville/Ashland/Blountsville/Gadsen/Heflin/Oxford/Snead), ALASKA (Dutch Harbor/ Kodiak Island), ARKANSAS (all residents), CALIFORNIA (Modesto residents only)FLORIDA (Jacksonville), GEORGIA (Buena Vista/Cumming/Dawson/Vienna), ILLINOIS (Chicago residents only), INDIANA (Corydon/Portland), KENTUCKY (Robards), MARYLAND (Berlin), MINNESOTA (Duluth/Motley), MISSISSIPPI (Cleveland/ Forest/Jackson/Vicksburg), MISSOURI (Dexter/Monett/Neosho/Noel/Sedalia), NORTH CAROLINA (Creswell/Monroe/Sanford/ Wilkesboro), OKLAHOMA (Broken Bow/ Holdenville/Stilwell), OREGON (Newport), PENNSYLVANIA (New Holland), TENNESSEE (Shelbyville/Union City), TEXAS (Carthage/ Center/Seguin), VIRGINIA (Glen Allen/Harrisonburg/Temperanceville), WASHINGTON (Seattle/Tacoma residents only). Applications available the last day of February and are due by April 20th. Award amount varies by need, normally $200-$1,800 per semester. Renewable; for up to 7 semesters unless the degree is specialized, in which case the award can be renewed for 2 additional semesters. Number of awards varies. Contact the Foundation to determine if student's residence and academic major qualify, and to obtain an application.
