Absolutely agree. Not to make programmers out of evboeyrdy; any more than Geometry or Algebra is going to make mathematicians out of everyone. But to develop methodical problem-solving techniques which is what most of math education is, anyway. The common lament against math classes is that I'll never use this. No, you are probably not going to use the binomial theorem, or quadratic equation formulas. But math is the only topic in your education that teaches methodical, step-by-step approaches to problem solving.And that IS something that you will use throughout your life.
