Louisiana & Special Collections Department: This department is located on the 4th floor of the library, with a reading room and staff offices. It contains manuscript and printed resources relating to Louisiana history and culture, with a special emphasis on New Orleans. Louisiana Collection: The Louisiana Collection, located in the department’s reading room on the 4th floor. It contains books, city and state documents, maps, local city directories and other material related to Louisiana and New Orleans. Special Collections: Special Collections contains original archive and manuscript collections, rare books, the UNO Authors Collection, original copies of all of the university’s theses and dissertations, and is the location of the library’s new digital initiatives program.
